Abstract
1390444 Azo dyestuffs with 5-halo-citrazinic acid derivatives as components SANDOZ Ltd 16 May 1972 [18 May 1971] 22873/72 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula (wherein D is a diazo component radical; Hal or Cl or Br; R 2 is H, or an optionally substituted amino, hydrocarbyl or heterocyclic radical; and R 1 is -CN, -COOR 3 or -CONR 4 R 5 in which R 3 is an optionally substituted alkyl or phenyl radical, R 4 is H, or an optionally substituted amino, hydrocarbyl or heterocyclic radical, and R 5 is H or an optionally substituted alkyl or phenyl radical, no SO 3 H groups being present), are prepared by direct halogenation of the corresponding 5-unsubstituted citrazinic acid derivatives. D is preferably an optionally substituted phenyl radical. The dyestuffs are suitable for dyeing or printing organic synthetic or semi-synthetic fibres of high M.W. and hydrophobic character in greenish-yellow to reddish-yellow shades.
