1389562 Nitriding titanium SOC NOUVELLE DES ACIERIES DE POMPEY and LABORATOIRE DE PHYSIQUE DE L'ETAT METALLIQUE 28 Jan 1972 [29 Jan 1971] 4212/72 Heading C7U Titanium or its alloys are subjected to treatment by ionic nitrogen either at 850‹-1000‹C followed by tempering at 500-600‹C, or directly at 500- 600‹C. A preferred process involves the use of a plasma stream of pure nitrogen, particularly for 1 to 15 hours at 850-1000‹C.
