Abstract

1389440 Central heating systems PONT-AMOUSSON SA 31 July 1972 [30 Aug 1971] 35667/72 Heading F4V [Also in Division F2] A four-way valve comprises a body 1 with a cylindrical cavity and a closure member 14 rotatable through a limited sweep angle, which closure member comprises an axial core 15 from which projects a continuous rib 16 whose edge bears against the wall of the cavity, the rib having a portion 16a which remains constantly between the ports 9 and 10 and a portion 16c, one end of which is above the port 4 at one end of the sweep and another end which is below the port 4 at the other end of the sweep, the rib being entirely located throughout the sweep on the same side of the port 3. The valve is incorporated in a monopipe central heating system having a single supply line supplying water to a plurality of radiators in series.
