Abstract
1388954 Aqueous modified polyaminoamide compositions ZSCHIMMER & SCHWARTZ KG 14 March 1972 11917/72 Heading C3R [Also in Division D2] A paper size comprises water and not more than 5 wt. per cent of a product obtained by reacting (a) a polyamide-amine condensation product derived only from a polymeric fatty acid and a polyamine and having a stoichiometric excess of amino over carboxyl groups with (b) an epihalohydrin or α-dichlorohydrin in water. Reactant (a) may be derived from diethylene- or -propylene-triamine or a higher homoloque and have an amine No of at least 150. Reaction of (a) with (b) may be effected in the presence of ammonia or an amine and the product may be dissolved in acid, e.g. formic or acetic to pH 5, before dilution to the required concentration with water. The composition and method of Specification 1,070,696 is disclaimed.
