Abstract

1388889 Mixing apparatus T GIUSTI & SON Ltd 11 Aug 1972 37486/72 Heading B1C [Also in Division F1] In apparatus for mixing and dispersing fluent materials, of the type comprising stator and rotor discs 12, 17 having rings of interdigitating teeth defining between adjacent teeth outwardly extending flow paths, the paths on the rotor 17 are inclined to the radius. As shown the rotor has major paths 29 and minor paths 30, the latter being more inclined. In operation the rotor is rotated in such a direction that the outer ends of the paths trail. As shown there are four rings of teeth on the stator and five on the rotor. The apparatus may be increased in material in a vessel to mix and circulate it, or enclosed in a casing (see Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) having a central inlet (21) and a tangential outlet (24) when it may also act as a centrifugal pump.
