Abstract

1388867 Substituted triazoles HOECHST AG 26 May 1972 [29 May 1971 2 Aug 1971] 24965/72 Heading C2C Compounds of formula where n is 1 or 2, R is H, a mono- or di-valent radical or a direct bond, and X is CN, optionally substituted pyronyl, a group of formula -CO-R<SP>11</SP> (where R<SP>11</SP> is C 1-5 alkyl or alkoxy, optionally substituted phenyl or phenoxy, or -NR 1 R 2 where R 1 and R 2 individually represent H, C 1-5 alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl), or X and R together make up a coumarin ring, are prepared by reacting where R<SP>1</SP> is C 1-4 alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl, with a salt of HN 3 at 0-200‹ C. The compounds, except those in which R is unsubstituted phenyl and X is CN and R<SP>11</SP> is alkyl, alkoxy or NH 2 , and those in which n is 1 and X is -COR<SP>11</SP>, are claimed per se. In exemplified compounds, R is phenyl, phenyl substituted with OH, NH 2 , CH 3 O, NO 2 , CH 3 CONH and Cl, naphthyl, anthracyl, propyl, and phenylene; and X is CN, COOCH 3 , COCH 3 , CONH 2 , 4-methylpyronyl, and coumarin.
