1388707 Magnetic composition SIEMENS AG 17 Nov 1972 [30 Dec 1971] 53153/72 Heading C1A A magnetic semi-conductor material has the composition A 1 _u_wDuCr 2 X 4-2 Z 2 where u is 0-0À1, w is 0-0À4, z is 0-1, u+z=O, A is at least one of Eu, Sr and Ba, D is different from A and is at least one of Cu, Ag, Au, Li, K and Na or at least one of the elements B, Al, Ga, In and Tl, or at least one of the elements Cd, Hg, Sn, Pb, V, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn and rare earths, X is at least one of S, Se and Te and Z is at least one of Cl, Br and I. The preferred material is Cu or Ag doped EuCr 2 Se 4 , which is prepared from EuSe, CrCl 3 and Cu or Ag.
