1387708 Welding by fusion INSTITUT ELEKTROSVARKI IMENI E O PATONA AKADEMI NAUK UKRAINSKOI SSR 25 Oct 1972 49123/72 Heading B3R [Also in Division C7] An electrode for welding alloy steels comprises a core consisting of 23-40% Cr, 11-20% Ni, 0-1% Ti, balance Fe, and a coating comprising by wt. fluorite concentrate 5-12% rutile concentrate 8-25% Fe powder 20-60% Cr 1-16% mica 1- 6% magnesite 3-25% Fe-Ti 2-10% Fe-Nb 0À5-10% the total amount of elemental metals in the coating being more than 45% by wt. In addition, the coating may contain one or more of haematite 3-10% K 2 CO 3 0À3- 1% Fe-Cr powder up to 30% Cr-Ni powder up to 30% Ni powder up to 10% The electrode may be used for arc welding high-alloy corrosion-resistant steels by means of D.C. of reversed polarity in the lower position, under the following conditions: Welding current 190 amps Arc voltage 28 volts Welding rate 9m/h. The electrodes used were 5 mm. in diameter with a CWF of 170%.
