1386391 3-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazoles STERLING DRUG Inc 14 Aug 1972 22698/74 Divided out of 1373311 Heading C2C Novel compounds I: in which R is hydrogen or methyl and Q n is 6-fluoro or 8-fluoro and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting a 2-fluoro or 4-fluorophenylhydrazine with 4-(NH-R substituted)- cyclohexanone in the presence of an acid. Compounds I may also be prepared (1) by reacting a compound II: in which Y is halogen or Z-SO 2 -O- (where Z is an organic radical) with an amine HN(R)CH 3 or (2) by reducing a compound III: preferably by using lithium aluminium hydride. Compounds I have anti-psychotic properties and form with an adjuvant or diluent a pharmaceutical composition which may be administered orally or parenterally.
