Abstract

1386305 Multi-stage flash evaporators HITACHI Ltd 5 May 1972 [6 May 1971] 21010/72 Heading BIB Brine or other liquid is heated in condenser tube 72 and heater 71 and is then submitted to multi-stage evaporation in a vessel 100 divided into a series of flash chambers 1, 2..5 by partition walls 11..14 each surmounting an orifice 32..35 at the base of a weir 42..45, the bottom plate of each chamber being inclined so that the liquid flows over it at great speed and shallow depth. The bottom plate may be provided with an irregular surface or steps of small height.
