Abstract
1385246 Support for mercury electrode FRIEDRICH UHDE GmbH 7 Feb 1972 [6 Feb 1971] 5558/72 Heading C7B In a mercury cathode electrolytic cell the base for carrying the mercury comprises a lower rigid layer of aluminium, or alloy thereof bonded to and in electrical contact with an upper layer having a different electrical conductivity and being substantially inert to the liquid. The upper layer may be nickel, titanium, platinum, steel or an electrolytically conducting ceramic material. The layers may be bonded by explosive cladding, roll bonding, soldering, electrically conducting glue or by electrolytically depositing one on the other.
