Abstract
1384884 Retractive switches JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 29 March 1972 [13 April 1971] 9267/71 Heading H1N A switch, actuated by the extension of the elastic webbing 17 in an automobile seat comprises a fixed contact 22, Fig. 4, secured to a sleeve 19 and a movable contact 16 secured to the webbing. The sleeve 19 is anchored by for example a rivet 20 close to one end of the webbing, near a seat bar 23, so that extension of the webbing causes the contacts 16, 22, to engage. The movable contact may act as a bridging contact 13, Fig. 2, and Fig. 11 (not shown), and one or more such contacts 13 may engage multiple sets of contacts 15 fixed to the sleeve 14. The sleeve contacts may be adjustably secured, as contact 36, Fig. 10, or arranged for initial adjustment, Figs. 6-8,11 @(not shown), by means of slots or wing nuts (Fig. 11). In Fig. 10 adjustment is obtained by moving the contact block 37 along a threaded shaft 34 by rotating a knurl 38, the contact 36 acting as a detent device. The device may be used in conjunction with the circuit of Fig. 9 (not shown) (see Specification 1,380,575).
