Abstract

1384258 Picture frames &c. furniture joints B KIRSCH 27 Jan 1972 [28 Jan 1971 17 Feb 1971 26 March 1971] 3881/72 Heading A4 [Also in Division E1] A rectangular frame for pictures, furniture, windows, doors &c. of plastics or metal and formed from a single or plurality of port mouldings has the moulding 1 of trough-section with an integral glass pane supporting strip 15 and a cover strip 2 in one or more parts detachably or permanently closing the trough mouth, the trough being subdivided by partitions 17; some of which are perforated to hold fittings, e.g. at 27, and have recesses to hold glass retaining clips 21. Adjustable pegs 24 in bores 23, and adjusting screws 25 are provided for holding and aligning a pane of glass. The cover is held by projections 26 gripping the trough inner walls. The trough may have its mouth open forwardly or outwardly of the frame and the continuous cover strip (40), Figs. 4, 5 (not shown) may include a seal (41). An angular or easily bent connecting member 34, Fig.6 may be located in the cavities of two angularly abutting frame sections 31, 32 and be embedded in a hardening substance 37. The base of the trough may carry a longitudinal central strengthening bar.
