Abstract

1384102 Toys R J BRADSHAW 19 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 18517/72 Heading A6S [Also in Division F4] A light source is provided at one end of an elongate member, e.g. a part of a toy, comprising acasing which is not conductive over its whole length and conductors within the member to connect the source to an electric battery lamp or light fitting, the member being deformable and capable of maintaming the deformed state in the absence of further externally applied force. The casing may be formed of rubber or thermoplastics material filled with rubber or polyurethane foam and thick copper wires within the foam act as conductors and hold the elongate member in its deformed state. Alternatively the casing or other stiffening members hold the deformed state. The elongate member may be separable from the body portion by a screw, snap or bayonet fixing. The toy, &c may be powered by batteries which may be rechargeable or by the mains supply which may be' lowered by a transformer within the body. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, a toy 5 has an elongate member as its nose 6 with a bulb 9 at the end and illuminable eyes 10, 11 which may be on deformable elongate stalks. The elongate members can be used in other toys as limibs for dolls, masts for ships and branches for trees.
