Abstract

A reading lamp has a clamp shaped to slip over the rear cover of a book where the clamp is integrated with a battery box and also carries a self-supporting flexible spine ending in a bulb holder complete with a small shade. To provide local light for e.g. reading in bed without disturbing others present. Most components are of PVC specifically rigid PVC for the battery box and its cover, a semi rigid grade for the flat clamp which slips between the cover and the leaves of a book. The hollow spine supporting the bulb holder is pref. of PVC. The shade is pref. of PVC with the internal surface coated with a white reflective paint.
