Abstract

1383558 Pontoons; hull structures ROTORK MARINE Ltd 20 March 1973 [29 March 1972] 14821/72 Heading B7A [Also in Division E1] A pontoon or hull structure 10 comprises a plurality of separate elongated resilient tubes 11 held together in side-by-side relationship. Cables 25 and winches 26 mounted on the structure tension the front end portions of the tubes to give them a predetermined upward bending or shaping. The craft of Fig. 5 has a propulsion unit 35. The pontoon of Fig.2 can be used to build a floating bridge by connecting a number of them lengthways, the conical closures 13 at the front 12 of the tubes engaging a fitting within the conical closures 15 of the rear end of the tubes of the adjacent pontoons.
