Abstract

1383555 Opening rollers for open-end spinning machines CASABLANCAS Ltd 23 March 1973 [24 March 1972] 13987/72 Heading D1N An opening roller 7 of an open-end spinning apparatus is hollow and has a foraminous or porous surface in order that air may pass therethrough to detatch fibres from the opening teeth. A stationary air supply duct 11 leads to the region within the roller where the fibres are ejected toward the spinning apparatus. The roller surface may have slots 13 or may be of porous material. The teeth may be provided by a saw tooth strip 14. Alternative re-entrant cross-sections for the duct 11 are illustrated in Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
