Abstract

1382776 Granulator C F SCHEER & CIE 24 April 1973 [22 April 1972] 19347/73 Heading B5A A granulator for granulating plastics strands comprises a knife cylinder and a metal strip forming an anvil knife extending longitudinally of the cylinder and held so that its upper edge is adjustable in sections towards the knife cylinder. As shown, a knife cylinder 12 is mounted in bearings 14 on machine frame 10 and has a hood thereover. An anvil unit 18 comprises an outer member 22 and an inner member 24 clamped together by screws 30 and holding an anvil knife 28 in slit 26 therebetween. Member 22 has a support surface 22a for incoming plastics strands 20. Adjusting screws 34 having locknuts 34a serve to advance the upper edge of knife 28 towards cylinder 12, vertical adjustment of knife 28 being provided by screws 23 having an eccentric 32a thereon.
