138,093. Mead Cycle Co., (Assignees of Lewis, G. S.). Oct. 27, 1916, [Convention date]. Chain-wheels.-A sprocket-wheel for bicycles, made from a disk of sheet metal, has a toothed edge 8 offset from the body of the disk, and an offset hub portion 9 lying beyond the plane of the edge 8. The offset parts 8, 9 are first pressed, from the disk, and the openings shown in Fig. 6 are then formed by stamping. The teeth 10 may be roughed out in a press as shown in dotted lines, and then finished by milling &c.
