Abstract

20,493. Osterwalder, J. Sept. 11, 1912, [Convention date]. Bookbinding-presses.-A bookbinder's press comprises adjustable jaws 7, 11 which are provided with recesses for receiving binding-bars 19, 20 provided with locking-means, so that layers of paper can be removed from the press in their compressed condition. The locking- means consists of pivoted toothed members 24 on the bars 20 which engage toothed portions on the bars 19. The jaws are mounted on a bed-plate 2, the jaw 7 being provided with levers 5 engaging racks 4 on the bed.
