Abstract

1380871 Loading and unloading ships CREUSOT-LOIRE 8 Feb 1973 [8 Feb 1972] 6315/73 Heading B8 A ship transhipment device comprises a portal 2 movable by rollers 5, 6 on rails 7, 8 along a quay 4 and mounting conveyers 1 elevatable and extendable to reach a moored ship at any tide height. The conveyers are supported by rolling members 10 in all their working positions A-C, Fig. 2, and can be extended by a haulage member 18 passing over pulleys 21, 22 with horizontal axes, to a motorized drum 23 while it can be elevated by a haulage member 14 passing over a similar pulley 15 to a motorized drum 17. The haulage devices allow a ship to be reached however it is moored and at any tide height while they can be operated to raise the conveyers to a substantially vertical inoperative position clear of the edge of the quay. As an alternative the members 15, 21 can be motorized.
