Abstract

1380816 Treating cloth in endless rope form ARGELICH TERMES YCa 31 Oct 1972 [29 March 1972] 50076/72 Heading D1L Apparatus for treating cloth 10 in endless rope form comprises an hermetically sealed vessel 1 divided by transversely extending wall 3 into a liquid pumping compartment 4 and a cloth treatment compartment 5, a longitudinally extending perforated wall 7 which divides compartment 5 into a upper subcompartment 9 through which the cloth 10 makes its return run and a lower subcompartment 8 which houses a transport duct 18 for the outward run of the cloth, a winch roller 20 disposed above the level of the treatment liquid 6 to feed the cloth to the inlet 17 of the transport duct 18 and pump 22 located in a hole in the lower part of wall 3 and arranged to create a difference in the levels of liquid in the compartments 4 and 5 and thus force liquid through header section 15 to enter the inlet 17 of the transport duct 18. As illustrated, a heat exchanger 24 is preferably disposed within the pumping compartment 4. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the winch roller 20 is disposed above the level of the liquid in the pumping compartment 4 and the upper subcompartment 9 is provided with a longitudinally extending horizontal wall disposed just below the surface of the liquid to prevent the endless rope from rising above the level of the treatment liquid.
