Abstract

1380707 Welding bearings to supports ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 22 Dec 1971 [23 Dec 1970] 59768/71 Heading B3R In a process for securing rolling bearings to a support member 1, 11, capable of assuming the admissible load of the bearing, one race, 4, 12 or 15, Fig. 4, of the bearing is welded to the support member. The support member may be plain or profiled sheet metal and electron beam, laser beam or electrical resistance welding may be used. In the latter case, a circular projection is formed on the plate 11<SP>1</SP> under the race 12<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 3. A jig 7, Fig. 5, may be used to hold the assembly during welding and comprises a centralizing bolt 26 and spring-loaded clamping lugs 28 mounted on a jig body 24.
