Abstract

1380617 Torsional vibration dampers DAIMLER-BENZ AG 23 Feb 1972 [27 Feb 1971] 8377/72 Heading F2S A torsional vibration damper for a shaft 1 comprises an inertia mass 2, coaxial with the shaft and supported on an outer annular bearing member, and two resilient elements 3 attached to opposite faces of the mass and of an inner annular bearing member. The rubber rings or segments 3 are vulcanized to the mass 2, and secured to both races of the bearing 4. The inner race and/or the rings 3 are rigidly connected to a sleeve 5 force-fitted on the shaft 1. The outer race may be fixed to the mass. Movement takes place between the races as allowed by stretching of the rings 3.
