1380239 Releasable fastenings ELLIS (COLCHESTER) Ltd 10 Jan 1972 [9 Oct 1970] 48149/70 Heading E2A A fastening for holding a plate 13, for example, on a hasp 11 for example, comprises a block 14, Fig. 1, having in one flat surface thereof which can abut the plate 13, a blind recess 15 to accommodate the part of the hasp 11 which protrudes through the plate 13 and having a transverse bore containing a bolt 18 which can be projected across the recess 15 to key with the hasp, and a collar 19 which is rotatable in a counter bore 28 in the block 14 and restricts free access to the side or sides of the bolt's head. The latter has a projection 22 which is engageable by a groove 24 of a key 23 by which the bolt can be removed. The hasp 11 may be replaced by a stud 38, Fig. 4, having a bore 16 therein through which the bolt 18 is passed. The bolt may be locked in the block by radially movable ball detents 53, Fig. 5, two keys 23, 59 being used for the release of the bolt. A locking tongue 119, Figs. 6 and 7, is a segment of a disc which is pivotally mounted at 121 and is located between plates 116, 117. of a segment 113. A friction-drive wheel 122 is mounted on a pivot 123 and is movable by a thumb so as to cause rotation of the tongue 119 until it projects into a recess (in a segment 114. The tongue is locked by a member 125 which is passed through bores 126 in the segment 114 and in the tongue, a head 124 preventing removal of the member 125.
