Abstract
1378601 Sealing device for textile treatment chamber AIR INDUSTRIE 1 Dec 1972 [28 Jan 1972] 55509/72 Heading D1L A device for sealing the inlet to a pressurized textile treatment chamber 1 comprises a pair of facing endless belts 3, 4 supported by mutually parallel rollers 6a, 6b and 7a, 7b respectively mounted on a support 8 carried by the wall 9 of the chamber, the exterior surfaces of the belts being provided with cogs 5 which engage for a distance D during the facing run of the belts 3, 4 leaving a gap e approximately equal to the thickness of the web 2 passing therethrough and into the chamber. The rollers 6a, 7a are preferably driven via drive means 13 and link 14. The gap e between the belts may be adjusted by adjustable rollers 6c and 7c provided between the supporting rolls of each belt. To ease "threading up" of the apparatus rollers 6b, 6c and 7b, 7c may be pivoted away from each other about rollers 6a and 7a respectively to separate the belts while the web 2 is introduced into the chamber.
