Abstract

1378131 Dip moulding one-piece articles PIERCAN SA 10 Jan 1973 1364/73 Heading B5A A one-piece article of varying thickness, e.g. a glove with a thicker cuff, is produced by heating a mould 1 and covering it with a protective member 13 before dipping it completely into a coagulant having a first density; after drying the coagulant, the member 13 is removed and the mould dipped into a coagulant having a second density, e.g. lower than the first coagulant covering the mould part previously protected andalso a marginal part of the first coating; when the second coating has dried the mould is dipped into a bath of material or synthetic latex which covers both previous coatings. Both coagulants may comprise solutions of methyl alcohol and calcium nitrate. The moulds may be of porcelain or aluminium, each with a collar 9 by means of which they are supported by plates 21, 24.
