Abstract
1377076 Stabilized optical systems OPTICAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CORP 29 Oct 1971 45896/71 Heading G2J To stabilize an optical system, a lens C 1 (and in the embodiment illustrated a further one C 2 ) is arranged in a fluid filled cavity B and is of neutral transparency. It is biased by ring magnets 90 acting on the magnetic ring 70 (additionally extra magnets 91 and the "tethers" 94 may be provided for wind restraint). The optics are such, formulae are given in the Specification, that the optical path through the assembly is independent of the deviation from the horizontal, the initial movement of the fluid in the chamber acting as a compensating force.
