Abstract
137,620. Butcher, A. D. D. Jan. 27, 1919 Watch bracelets.-A strap for fastening a watch to the wrist or like purposes is formed of a single piece of pliable material such as red vulcanized fibre or compressed fibre which may be moukled at one or both ends for engagement with the watch, and is formed to protect the person from contact with the watch. The strap A, Fig. 1, is stamped from sheet material with a disk B near one end D, the disk having a flat portion C to allow easy access to the winding-stem of the watch. In use, the disk B and short end D are softened in warm water, and, the long piece of strap being threaded through the link E, Fig. 2, the disk is pressed close to, and moulded round the edges of, the watch as shown., the end D being pushed through the other link F and bent to form a catch G. The strap is then bent to a circle, and its extreme end is softened and formed as a hook H to engage with the link F underneath the catch G. Instead of bending the end of the strap to form the hook H, a metal T-piece J, Fig. 5, is used, the two projecting pieces K of the head being bent round the strap and secured by depressions L in the metal. The stem of the T-piece is bent to form a hook M.
