Abstract

1375589 Reducing thread guide friction in thread supply K I J ROSEN 22 Dec 1972 [22 Dec 1971] 59330/72 Headings D1C and D1J In a device in which thread is wound tangentially onto a storage member and withdrawn under a brake ring 10 which surrounds the storage member. Irregularities are provided either on the inner edge of the brake ring or the outer edge of the storage member which cause the thread to vibrate. These irregularities may comprise resilient spokes which lie in a conical array and slope in the direction of yarn movement. The brake ring may be made of plastics and the spokes integrally moulded. Suitable dimensions and spacings of spokes are given. Winding onto the storage member may be by a flyer or the member may be driven. The thread is moved along the storage member by known means. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specification 1,241,781.
