Abstract

1375306 Sachet packages for liquids RONEO VICKERS Ltd 9 July 1973 [1 Aug 1972] 35842/72 Heading B8C [Also in Division B6] An elongated sachet, for liquid, such as ink, which can be easily inserted into, and removed from, a rotary duplicating machine of the kind having a perforated, hollow, printing cylinder, not shown, adapted to support a stencil sheet, is constructed of flexible material and is provided, along one edge, with a rigid, or semi-rigid, strip 7 of material which is sandwiched between the skins of the sachet and is provided with a set of channel ways 9 therein which are in communication with the interior of the sachet and into which holes may be provided, by perforation of one of the two skins where it bridges the channels, to allow the liquid to emerge at spaced intervals along said edge of the sachet. The Figure of the drawings shows a sachet, one half of which is full and the other half empty, and which is formed of two sheets 1, 2, preferably of transparent, flexible, synthetic material welded along edges 3-5 when empty, and along the fourth edge 6 when full. The strip 7, made, e.g. of synthetic resin, is also provided with an alternating set of shallower channels 8 which locate weld points 10 between the sheets 1, 2 and secure the strip securely therebetween. Before being placed in the machine the sachet is located in a frame having, perforation means thereon which are actuated e.g. in groups, when the sachet and the frame are located in the machine and which act as valves, to stop the flow of ink from the perforations, when the satchet and frame are withdrawn from the machine.
