Abstract
1374844 Determining polarization YEDA RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Co Ltd 3 Feb 1972 [26 Feb 1971] 5143/72 Heading G2J [Also in Division G1] Apparatus to calibrate a luminescence measuring system in which system the circular polarization of the light is examined (see Group G1) comprises a fused silica plate whose centre is located on the optical axis of the system followed by a quarter-wave plate. The relative positions of the two plates (both of which are rotatable about the optical axis) will determine the degree of cirular polarization and this is calculated from the parameters of the apparatus and used to calibrate the system.
