Abstract

1350617 Refractometers SIEMENS A G 6 Sept 1971 [12 Sept 1970] 41522/71 Heading G2J [Also in Division G1] A refractometer with cells for the reference liquid and the sample n 1 and n 2 respectively, uses a beam splitter 1-3 to produce two rays 5 and 6 the intensity of which are compared by photosensitive conductors 13, 14 in a Wheatstone bridge arrangement. The splitter comprises two glass or like plates 1, 2 abutting at a symmetrical face 3. Figs. 3 and 4, (not shown), show a modified construction using lens to focus the split rays on the photo detector.
