Abstract
1374371 Unsaturated nitriles FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 18 Jan 1972 [19 Jan 1971 19 May 1971] 2361/72 Heading C2C Unsaturated nitriles are produced by reacting hydrogen cyanide with esters of unsaturated alcohols with carboxylic acids, in the gaseous phase and in the presence of catalysts comprising copper (II) and/or cobalt salts. The catalyst may also contain a Lewis acid and it may be supported on a carrier of silicon dioxide, aluminium oxide, active charcoal, zirconium oxide, aluminium silicate or a molecular sieve.
