1373959 Applying liquids to webs and sheets KODAK Ltd 3 Aug 1972 [5 Aug 1971] 36905/ 71 Heading D1L [Also in Division G2] A sheet 3 is passed between a guide 22 and a series of liquid applicator rolls 4, 6, 8 and 10 having a surface layer of absorbent sponge material, the rolls being partially immersed in processing liquid in a tray 1 between smallerdiameter reverse-rotation deforming rolls 5, 7 and 9, pools of liquid in contact with the sheet thereby being formed between each pair of applicator rolls. The applicator rolls may be moveable out of operative position to prevent permanent deformation.
