1373695 Trim panels; road vehicle bodies DAIMLER-BENZ AG 28 April 1972 [5 May 1971] 19890/71 Headings B7J and B7B In a vehicle body such as a lorry driver's cab, a rigid inner wall lining 2 for a rear wall 1 of the body has lateral end portions 4 which are curved forwardly to extend over rear door pillars 3 of lateral door openings in the body, and are connected to the pillars 3 by respective continuous U-shaped strips 7 acting to seal the doors. Each U-shaped strip 7 surrounds the end of a portion 4, the edge 6 of a door pillar member 5 and an end flange of the wall 1. The inner lining 2 may be constructed in one piece or may be divided at the longitudinal vertical median plane of the vehicle body into two halves one of which is shown in Fig. 2, for connection at edge 17 to the other half. When the rear wall 1 has one or more window openings 10, the lining 2 has corresponding cut-outs 11. Around these openings, the wall and lining are drawn together and formed with flanges 12, 13 which are held together by a glazing-retaining member 15 which also retains the window pane 14. Sound and heat insulating material may be provided between wall 1 and lining 2. Verticallyextending stiffening beads or ribs 19 may be provided on the inner lining 2 beneath the window cut-outs 11 by stamping out the lining towards the rear wall 1.
