1373542 Measuring moisture content EAST MIDLAND INSTRUMENT ERECTION CO Ltd 13 Jan 1972 [22 March 1971] 7495/71 Heading GIN The moisture content of granular material (e.g. sand, soil, ash, peat) is measured by passing an alternating current between two non-corrodible spike electrodes 2 inserted into the material thereby measuring its electrical resistance, and one electrode includes a temperature compensating N.T.C. thermistor 3. Relay 7 may control the supply of irrigation water. The electrodes may be of cadmium plated copper or platinum.
