Abstract

1373460 Cutting tools BRODERNA GRANATHS MEKANISKA VERKSTADER AB 28 Dec 1972 [7 Jan 1972] 59872/72 Heading B3B A cutting tool 1 using a reground detachable sintered hard metal cutting bit 12 comprises a shank 2 having a seat or recess 7 for receiving the reground bit 12, the bit being raised in its seat or recess by way of a shim 13 having at least one wall 15 upstanding from a bottom portion 14 of the shim, the shim compensating for the hard metal removed from the bit during regrinding and thereby maintaining the bit in a position substantially the same as it was before regrinding had been carried out. The reground bit is secured with the shim in the recess by way of a screwed clamp 9, 10. A chip breaker 11 may be provided. The cutting bits may be of triangular, square or other shape with appropriate shaped shims.
