Abstract

137,302. Universelle Cigarettenmaschinen-Fabrik, J. C. Muller & Co. Aug. 30, 1916, [Convention date]. Rotary machines.-In a cigarette-making machine provided with a roll for printing on the web of paper the roll, along with its spindle and driving-gear, can be shifted by hand to compensate for displacements of the web. For this purpose the spindle b is carried in a sleeve f having an external screw thread engaging with a nut g carried by the framing of the machine. The sleeve f can be rotated by hand bv means of a knurled disk m and gearing as shown. The spindle b carries a gear wheel c engaging with a driving- wheel d which is made broad to allow for the motion of the spindle b. To lock the sleeve f in position, a saw-cut p is made in the nut g so as to leave a resilient projection which can be pressed outwards by means of a screw q.
