Resistance furnaces. - Resistance material 1 moulded around a crucible 2, as described in the parent Specification, is divided into segments by insulating partitions 5 for use with polyphase current, connexion to the phases being made by conducting rods 4, and the bottom 1<a> forming the neutral connexion. The partitions may be of masonry, and plates 7 of mica or asbestos may be embedded in them. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 13690/05.
