Abstract

1371442 Valves M I FRENKEL 29 March 1972 14602/72 Heading F2V A non-return valve comprises a pack of annular elements each of which comprises an annular seat 3 having fluid inlet passages, and at least one flexible annular plate 4 clamped to the seat along one peripheral edge, the inlet passages being in the form of radial slots in at least one axial face of the seat and opening on to one of the cylindrical surfaces of the seat so that fluid contacts the surface of the plate along the entire lengths of the slots. The slots may be linear or zig-zag. The plates 4 may have circular edges or can be provided with teeth (19), Figs. 8-10 (not shown). The deflection of the plates under fluid pressure can be limited by spacing members (15), Fig. 4 (not shown). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,314,282.
