1,039,140. Pneumatic conveyers; feeding articles. TRENTON FOODS Inc. Dec. 28, 1964 [Sept. 30, 1963], No. 52560/64. Heading B8A. An air-lock device for feeding articles 296, Fig. 1, between high- and low-pressure zones, comprises a pocketed turret 214 rotatably mounted in a housing 222, 224 in which a pair of sealing bars 262 is arranged between the flat end faces of the turret and housing to prevent the passage of air &c. The sealing bars 262 comprises sandwiched rubber strips which are mounted on the high-pressure side so that the pressure tends to deform the strips edgewise into sealing engagement.
