1371293 Spindle brake FRIED KRUPP GmbH 12 May 1972 [13 May 1971] 22460/72 Heading DID A spindle brake comprises one or more lifting rollers 2 arranged on a displaceable plate 3 together with a braking block 5 and a manually operable actuating member for moving the plate so that the drive belt 1 may be lifted off the spindle wharfe 6 before the brake 5 is applied. The brake actuator is retained in the braking position by an elastic member. The elastic member can be a spring acting directly on the actuator or it can be formed by a leaf spring supporting the brake pad.
