1371146 Workpiece transferring WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT 7 OKTOBER BERLIN VEB 28 Jan 1972 4104/72 Heading B3B A workpiece transporting device for transporting rotationally symmetrical workpieces 19 from a workpiece store, e.g. pallet 9 to a machine tool 14 or back, comprises ahorizontal transporttrack 2 which is adjustable in height on a frame 1 and which has guides 6 on which a transport slide 3 is horizontally movable, the slide 3 having vertical guides 7 on which a transport head 4 is mounted for vertical movement. The head 4 has a horizontal fixing surface (10, Fig. 2, not shown) and a vertical fixing surface (11, Fig. 3, not shown) on one of which a gripper head 12 is mounted, depending on whether the work spindle 13 of the machine tool 14 is vertical or horizontal respectively. A shaft 15 is mounted rotatably and axially slidably displaceably in the head 12 and carries a swivel arm 5 which carries at least one shaft 18 each for receiving a workpiece gripper 17, the or each shaft 18 being rotatable about and displaceable in the direction of its own axis.
