Abstract
1371071 Self-wringing mops POPEIL BROS Inc 8 Oct 1971 [26 Feb 1971] 46972/71 Heading A4F A,cantilever self-wringing mop comprises a U- shaped mop head mount 12 having a wringer shaft 25 along one leg, a crank 16 secured to the shaft 25, and a removable mop head 20 secured at its outer end, as by a snap fastening device 35, 43, for rotation therewith, and mounted at its opposite end, e.g. on the wringer shaft support 28, so as to be restrainable from rotation with the wringer shaft 25, whereby rotation of the latter by the crank 16 twists the mop head 20 to wring it. The mop head 20 comprises sponge material encased in a cloth sleeve and its ends are secured to spools 31, 36 each formed internally with a pair of narrow grooves and a pair of wide grooves selectively engageable with fins 30 and 53 on the wringer shaft support 28 and the device 35, 43, whereby in use the mop head 20 is either non- rotatable relatively to the shaft 25 or has a limited flip-flop rotation thereon.
