Abstract

1370881 Drawers W PIMBLOTT 3 Sept 1971 [5 June 1970] 27223/70 Heading A4B [Also in Division F2] A furniture kit comprises front, back and sides portions connectable by joints, each joint comprising a U-shaped channel 18 provided on one edge 14 of one portion 10 and a rib 30 receivable in the channel 18 provided on an adjacent edge (24) of another portion 12 to be joined to said one portion 10, at least one stud 20 having a substantially rectangular head 22 extending from the channel bottom such that the distance between the channel bottom and the head underside is greater than the rib thickness, the or each stud 20 being rotatable about its axis and at least one slot 32 in the rib 30 through which the head can pass when the stud is in one orientation and the rib is in the channel, whereafter, on rotation of the stud through 90 degrees the head cannot be withdrawn through the slot and the rib is thereby held in the channel. The kit can be assembled to form a drawer for a kitchen unit.
