Abstract
1370785 Laminates ROHM & HAAS CO 14 Sept 1971 [22 Sept 1970 (2) 9 Feb 1971 (2)] 42713/71 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Laminates may be prepared by bonding under heat and pressure aluminium sheets which have been spray coated with acrylic or vinylic adhesives in solution, e.g. in ethylene dichloride/ methyl ethyl ketone mixtures, to extruded blown film made from polymer compositions comprising (1) crosslinked particulate addition polymer derived from a mixture comprising 87 to 99À99 weight per cent of monoethylenically unsaturated monomer and 0À01 to 3 weight per cent of polyethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer, the particles being substantially spherical and of average diameter 0À5 to 30 microns, dispersed in (2) a continuous phase of thermoplastic addition polymer. In Example 7 the films are prepared from dispersions of (1) particulate crosslinked polymers of butylene diacrylate and styrene, optionally together with butyl acrylate in (2) methyl methacrylate/ethyl acrylate copolymer matrix, blended with titanium dioxide and a film-forming methyl methacrylate/butyl acrylate copolymer.
