The horizontal movement is transmitted by links 13, 20, and 21, and the feeding foot is supported on parallel links 24 pivoted on a collar 4 on the presser bar 3. The vertical movement is transmitted by link 25, bell crank lever 26, link 27 and a lever 29 pivoted at 28a on an extension of the collar 4. The arm 31 raises and lowers a bridge 37 attached to the feeding foot and a roller 33 attached to the bridge permits the foot to move horizontally along the arm 31. The feeding foot is pressed down by a spring 42 in the hollow presser bar operating through a rod 44 and ball bearing 39. The presser bar is pressed down by a leaf spring 45, and a stop 52 on the bar abuts an adjustable cam surface 53. The bar may be raised by a lever 51. The presser foot 63 is attached to and pressed down by a leaf spring 59 carried on an extension 58 of the collar 4 which also carries an upper and lower stop 7, 6 for the leaf spring. A conventionally driven feed dog 17 cooperates with the upper feeding foot 36.
