Abstract

1369372 Artifical shrubbery G L STRONY 16 May 1972 [20 May 1971] 22803/72 Heading A4X An artifical shrub comprises a plurality of limb assemblies 26 each having a main limb 28 and outwardly extending cross limbs 30, the main limbs 28 being frictionally clamped at circumferentially spaced positions to the trunk member 12 by a pair of discs 14, 16. Each limb assembly 26 has its limb 28 formed of intertwisted flexible wire rods 32 and its cross limbs 30 of intertwisted wires 34 and captured filaments 36, the cross limbs being spaced on the main limb by flexible tubes 38. Each disc has a serrated inner periphery (18) to frictionally grip trunk member 12 and outer semi-circular notches 22 into which the tubes 38 are snapped. Discs 14, 16 are axially adjustable and can be located by pins in holes in the trunk. In a modification, the main limb comprises a solid rod. A tree top 42 has a limb inserted in an axial hole 40 in the trunk. Alternatively, a tree top (42'), Fig. 3 (not shown) is formed by longer cross limbs at the upper end of one of the limb assemblies.
