Abstract

874,704. Artificial Christmas trees. HIRSCHMANN, G. May 16, 1960 [May 14, 1959], No. 17198/60. Class 63 The trunk of an artificial Christmas tree is made in tubular sections a <SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP>, a &c., each corresponding in length to the interval between two series of branches b, the wire or plastic stems of the branches being secured between engaging portions of one section with another. As shown the ends of the branch stems pass through inclined holes in the sections and are secured by plugs d connecting one section with another. Radial grooves in the upper end faces of the sections may replace the holes for insertion of the stems. In another embodiment the tubular trunk sections are inserted directly one in the other, the upper portion of each section being formed with a widened neck k Fig. 4 (not shown) and the branch stems being clamped between the terminal portions h and the neck k.
